Excursion to the forest

The students have spent the whole day in a forest near their school. The objective of this excursion was to be able to know all the types of leaves that were there and to learn their names. Also, they took the opportunity to get to know the animals that were around them. It was an excursion where the students enjoyed but, above all, they learned a lot. While the children were observing the animals in the area, a student suddenly started calling for help as a raccoon appeared in front of him. After a few seconds the raccoon left. Luckily, everything was a simple scare.

Solidary market

4th grade students prepare a solidary market on the 16th of December. It was a non-profit event whose objective was to raise funds to send them to an association in need.

In this market, each student contributed toys, clothes, stuffed animals... that they didn’t use for their classmates and for anyone who was interested in participating.

It is a very positive activity because values such as empathy and generosity are worked on.

We are very happy with the result and very proud to have been able to help people in need for another year.

Healthy breakfasts

LANCA's School participates in a program where the purpose is to promote healthy eating.

This program consists of distributing a piece of fruit to all primary school children two days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays.

The fruit that is distributed is the tangerine, the banana and the apple. Also, they have to bring bread with cold meat on Thursdays and Tuesdays and the breakfast on Friday is free. Students used to bring chocolate or cookies.

Every Friday a different course (from 3rd grade to 6th grade) goes and collects the rubbish from the yard in order to keep the space clean and to teach students the importance of not contaminating due to the negative effects that can be produced. Now, the pupils take care of the environment.

LANCA's School

LANCA’s school is a public school. It is situated in Cookham, a little town in London.

We provide happy teaching based on play. Our students learn to share with his friends and learn to socialize. Also, we help our pupils to be autonomous, critical and creative.

For better learning, we believe it is necessary that the family and the educational environment have a good partnership between them. In addition, from our point of view, emotional education is an essential part to improve their development, so we teach it in some projects during the year.

I joined the management team in 2019, after spending seven years as a science teacher in the center. Now, I think that is a great opportunity to work in this school and report what happens in it. I hope I can help you with everything you need.
